Continuing with my mixed media artist blog series about the inspiration behind specific collage art pieces I will attempt to describe the inspiration behind my abstract collage art piece "Acceleration". While the overall theme behind my mixed media collage is highways and how they mirror moments we encounter in our lives each specific collage art piece has its own meaning that I tried to capture as a mixed media artist.

This next collage painting, “Acceleration”, shows a wild, green/blue-green loop shooting through space. Green is for action and fast movement forward or acceleration. The multiple, smaller loops of rope I’ve included in the mixed media collage suggest something more tightly bound and ready to spin into the air much like a metal spring. This collage painting speaks a language of speed and suggests that traveling fast is the way to go, not slow. The other elements of the mixed media art fading into the collage painting suggest speed also. There is no braking their paths of traveling.
