Gridlocked Wind

Gridlocked Wind

Acrylic with Rope, Wooden Beads, and Select Papers, 24” x 18”

The wind, rushing past green fields, is in a gridlock. It tries to blow through this highway interchange, which is blocked by massive purple concrete structures. One could say the wind is strung out and tied up in knots. It can hardly get by.

Soft puffs of wind represented by open circles of purple and green, also try to get through the pass. Their progress is like the motion of bubbles mixing in water. Trying very much to squeeze by the next bubble, each one makes its own attempt. When it crowds out the strong wind the soft puffs are set free.
